Hello there and welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere. Wait, can a sphere have a corner? That’s just the way these introductions are supposed to start, right?
So, I’ve been blogging for about 5 years now and my space has been slowly evolving into the eclectic mix you see here. A little bit about life and love and kids and family and the occasional recipe and diy project.
My blog title, A Scenic Detour, really just describes my life in a nutshell…never really staying on the route I had planned in my mind, occasionally getting lost along the way, but truly enjoying the lovely scenery as I meander along on whichever path God leads me to follow.
I’m featuring some of my most popular posts here, so you can get a sense of what you can expect to see and get to know me a little bit better. Clicking on any photo will take you to the mentioned post.
In the past year or so, I have started sharing some posts about the struggles I had with infertility and miscarriage. It’s been really cathartic to write it all down and it’s been especially rewarding to know that these have been some of my most popular posts.

My family follows a grain-free, Primal diet, so I’ve written quite a few times about my journey to health and wellness and I occasionally throw in a favorite recipe.
I’m a working mom of an only child and I am a preschool teacher, so I love to post about my family and the activities we do together. The rest of my content centers around home and family, parenting, travel, and my musings as I try to keep balance in this busy, crazy world.
There is plenty more to find by clicking on the categories in the side bar. I hope you’ll find something to inspire you!
